Lake Hamilton businessman Gary White was appointed to the town council by council members in a special meeting Tuesday night to fill Seat 3, recently vacated by Jacque Henderson.

White, who owns Hold-Awn Manufacturing and Camiad Inc., a real estate management company, has been a resident of Lake Hamilton since 1984. He has served on the town's Zoning Board of Adjustments and the Blue Ribbon Charter Committee. He and his wife, Jamie, have three grown sons.

"This town has been good to me, so I just want to do my part," White said.

Councilwoman Kathi Latimer has known White since they were in high school.

"He's been on committees in the town," Latimer said. "He is a true asset to the town."

Henderson resigned from the town council May 1, the same night she was sworn in for a new two-year term, to accept the position as town clerk.
