A man on probation for a grand theft conviction was charged with fatally shooting two men outside a restaurant during a fight the three were involved in, officials said Tuesday.

Jermaine Chamberline, 24, confessed after being arrested in the deaths of the men at David's Cafe II near Miami Beach's Lincoln Road just before dawn on Memorial Day, according to a police report released Tuesday.

Chamberline, of Miami, shot both men when a "verbal altercation" between two groups of friends escalated into punching and kicking, the report said without giving further details.
