I am writing to commend you for the article written by Winter Haven native Hunter Haskins ["At War's Forefront," May 20, page D1]. How proud his family has to be.

I was proud of him, by just reading his first letter about his experience that was printed.

I've never met him nor do I know any of his family, and now I feel as if he is a friend to me. What a wonderfully written piece.

I anxiously await subsequent articles. I've learned more about being deployed overseas and how it feels to see where he is going to be stationed than watching any newscast or any other written article since this awful war started.

Thank you for printing his story, and many thanks to Hunter Haskins for|sharing his story with your readers. I'll be saving all the articles in a special book.
