Polk County Director of Utilities Greg Boettcher is among four finalists for the position of general manager of the Lansing (Mich.) Board of Water and Light.

He and the three other candidates, chosen from a field of 124 applicants, will be interviewed by the water and light board June 15.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the board will decide on a new director of the utilities department June 18.

The department has 730 employees and a $213 million annual budget.

The public utility has 97,679 electric customers and 55,758 water customers.

In the past four years, the State Journal reported, the utility administration has been in turmoil.

Boettcher could not be reached for comment at the county Utilities Department on Wednesday.
