For more than 40 years Dyas Gregg, who passed Dec. 27, was there helping assemble Lakeland's singing Christmas tree, or helping nervous children get into place. During Disney's opening days, he was helping Jay Erwin set up the Lakeland Orchestra (now the Imperial Symphony Orchestra), or back to Lakeland for a local concert.

Gregg was faithful at the Lakeland Center loading in a show, sometimes at 1:45 in the morning. Many of the artists felt at home with him. His baritone voice commanded confidence and professionalism.

These are just a few examples of his stewardship of the performing arts. The Lakeland Orchestra, the Pied Piper Players (now the Lakeland Community Theatre) and so many more felt his guidance and expertise. He will be missed.
